May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, and we are honored to spotlight four AAPI organizations making a difference in the movement for reproductive health and rights right now: [link removed]
❤ The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF, pronounced “NAP-off”) believes in the right of all people to make decisions about their bodies, sexuality, and reproductive health, no matter what lawmakers or courts say. They work to build structural change and fight the criminalization of pregnancy outcomes. Support their important work today. [link removed]
❤ The National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC) organizes Korean and Asian Americans to achieve social, racial, and economic justice. A big part of this is the fight for reproductive justice, and NAKASEC works to protect and preserve everyone’s right to make choices about their body. You can help support their mission here. ❤ In response to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in 2022, Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC) developed a guide to digital security for abortion and health care privacy, as well as social media slide decks, in over a dozen languages. Check out that important work here (and share it!). [link removed]
❤ The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) promotes Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander participation and representation at all levels of the political process. APAICS’ Women’s Collective specifically works to increase AAPI women’s representation in politics and further drive reproductive justice for all. Learn more about APAICS and get involved here! These organizations (and hundreds of others) are essential in achieving reproductive and sexual rights and care in AAPI communities -- and throughout the U.S.
Thank you for celebrating AAPI Heritage Month with us.
