My son James is a good man. He’s a devoted father to a sweet two-year-old boy – here’s a picture of them together.
James is a decorated Army veteran. He served this country honorably. After his military service, he came home and continued serving by joining law enforcement. He became a San Antonio police officer, not because it was easy—but because it was right. Because he believed in protecting others. Because he believed in doing good.
But now, the same country and community he swore to protect are turning their backs on him.
James is being dragged into court by a radical, anti-police District Attorney who’s more interested in headlines and politics than in justice. They’ve painted James as a villain—but he’s not. He’s a father, a son, a public servant, and a patriot who put everything on the line to help others.
He was doing his job—trying to keep the public safe. But that doesn’t seem to matter anymore. Not to the activists. Not to the media. And not to the District Attorney who has made James a target.
Now he’s facing years in prison.
And the most painful part?
If they succeed, my two-year-old grandson will grow up without his daddy. He won’t remember the way James reads to him at night. He won’t remember how James held his tiny hand during his first steps. He won’t remember the laughter and bedtime stories and snuggles on the couch.
All of that will be taken from him.
I try not to cry in front of James. I try to be strong. But every night, when I lie awake staring at the ceiling, the tears come. The fear grips me. I think about my baby boy locked in a cell… and my grandson growing up wondering why Daddy never came home.
This is not justice. This is a political prosecution of a police officer who wore the badge with honor.
And we’re doing everything we can to fight back. But legal defense is expensive. And we’re running out of time.
His trial is just weeks away.
We’ve partnered with the National Center for Police Defense, who have stood by us through this nightmare. They’re helping us raise money to cover James’s legal defense, and every dollar you give goes directly to defending him in court.
But we still need help. We need YOUR help.
Please—if you’ve ever prayed for a soldier… if you’ve ever thanked a police officer… if you’ve ever hugged your child a little tighter and felt grateful they were safe—then I ask you now to help us.

Even a small gift—$15, $25, $50—will go a long way. And if you can give more, you could be the reason my grandson grows up with his father in his life.
I’ve never asked for anything like this before. But I am now. Because I believe that good people still exist. That this country still has a heart. That there are still Americans out there who support our police and understand the importance of standing up for what’s right.
James spent his life standing up for others. Now it’s our turn to stand up for him.
Please… from one parent to another… from one American to another… don’t let them destroy my son.

With all my heart, thank you for reading this. Thank you for caring. Thank you for helping us fight for justice—for James, for his son, and for every good officer who risks their life to protect yours.
With gratitude and hope,
Sarah Brennand
P.S. I still can’t believe this is real. That my son might be taken away. That my grandson might grow up asking why Daddy isn’t there. My heart breaks a little more every time I think about it. Please… if you have children, if you love someone the way I love James—you know this pain. Please help us. Even one gift, one act of kindness, could change everything. Donate now before it’s too late.
