I’ll admit it, John:
I never thought that I would be in this position.
I’m not a career politician. I didn’t think running for Congress was in the cards, but when I saw our communities being taken backwards by a rubber-stamp for the MAGA agenda, I knew I had to step up.
From day one on the trail, I made listening to the working families I would ultimately serve my top priority. I vowed that if I was elected to the House, it’d be for the people of this district – not special interests or party leadership.
Together, we shocked the GOP establishment by flipping this seat. In fact, I ended up being one of the only Democrats in the country to flip a Republican-held seat in what turned out to be a tough election.
Now, I’m facing my first-ever re-election. As a first-time Congressman in a Republican-controlled House, I’m in a particularly vulnerable spot.
