At the heart of Mother's Day is family. And at the heart of this match opportunity are Chuck and Wendy Garrett. Their family knows how much Alzheimer's can steal from us. To honor Sandy Garrett they're giving back in hopes that their generosity can keep other families from experiencing the loss and pain they did.
That's why they've pledged an incredible $1,000,000 to advance critical research and help grow care and support programs located on Native American reservations in Oklahoma and other rural areas. This amazing gift will also be used to match your gift to provide care and support and advance research — but only until midnight, June 15.
Mother's Day is tomorrow, and many of us are thinking about the amazing women we have in our lives. The day should be a joyful time when we celebrate all the inspiration, all the advice and all the love that mothers give us. But we also know that Alzheimer's has a disproportionate impact on women. Women are more likely to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's and more likely to provide unpaid care for people living with this disease.
Sincerely,
Katie Evans
Chief Programs and Mission Engagement Officer
