Dear John,
The Trump-Pence administration just decided to finalize a rule that will embolden health care providers to discriminate against patients and hurt people who are Black, brown, or LGBTQ the most. At a time when our country is in crisis—reckoning with systemic racism and police brutality and contending with a devastating public health crisis— and on the day we solemnly remember those lost in the Pulse nightclub shooting, issuing this rule is both cruel and dangerous.
We’re going to fight this rule every way we can, both in court and in Congress. And we’ll need you with us. Will you power our fight with an emergency donation right now? [[link removed]]
Help Us Stop the Trump Administration’s Assault on Our Health Care Rights [[link removed]]
Discrimination in health care endangers our lives and our health.
DONATE [[link removed]]
The Health Care Rights Law, known as Section 1557, protects patients from discrimination in health care based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. That means, for example, you can't be discriminated against because you had an abortion or are gender non-confirming. But the Trump administration is trying to undo these protections. By issuing this rule, the administration continues to undermine civil rights protections and exacerbate already existing health disparities in our country. Health care providers should provide care to all who need it, regardless of who they are or what reproductive health care they need. The implementation of this rule affects us ALL. That’s why thousands of supporters like you submitted comments opposing it. But did the Trump administration listen? Of course not.
But we’re not done fighting. Please strengthen our fight against discrimination in health care with a donation today. [[link removed]]
