Good morning from the sunny state of Florida.

I’m back on the road for another town hall in Sarasota today, which is part of FL-17. Yet again, a cowardly Republican incumbent is hiding from his constituents because they know they cannot defend what’s happening in Washington.

Trump’s corruption and billionaire first agenda is toxic and devastating for working families. Republicans know this, but this is what they promised the billionaires and corporations that funded their campaigns and put them in power.

So they’re returning the favor by ramming through the biggest giveaway to the wealthy in American history. They know it’s indefensible, and it’s why they refuse to show their face or take questions from the people they are elected to serve.

Our best chance to stop them is to up the pressure by mobilizing people in their backyard. If they realize that their constituents will put them out of a job, they might decide this bill is not worth the consequences. It only takes a small handful of Republicans backing out to kill the billionaire tax cut and save funding for programs like Medicaid and SNAP.

That’s why I’m doing this work and taking our case to districts all across the country. It really does matter. But I cannot do it without your support because I refuse to take a dime from PACs or corporations. So I am asking you, personally:

If you can, please make a contribution to support my efforts to organize and build a massive grassroots opposition movement. Whatever you can give will be invested directly in these efforts and our work traveling to hold Republicans accountable all across the country. These events require significant resources.

I know the barrage of news and corruption in Washington can feel hopeless. That is what Republicans are counting on, and we cannot let it happen.

I believe we have to give this fight everything we have in order to preserve American democracy. I am doing everything I can to combat this crisis and meet this moment. You deserve nothing less from your elected officials.
