A Pennsylvania state senator has called on Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine to resign -- despite the fact that since the start of the pandemic, Dr. Levine has continued to provide us with calm and clear daily updates, keeping us informed and safe and allowing Pennsylvania to avoid the overwhelming spread of COVID 19 experienced by some of our neighbors. She has been direct and focused on the facts, following the science to ensure Pennsylvanians have all the knowledge necessary to make it through this crisis.
Dr. Levine, an out and proud transgender woman serving the Commonwealth, is no stranger to disrespect and criticism on the basis of her gender identity. Recently, a Pittsburgh reporter publicly used the wrong pronouns while directly addressing Dr. Levine. Still, Dr. Levine continues to put her all into providing us with sound recommendations to lead us out of the pandemic.
