Send a letter to the editor to say: Hands off Medicaid!

Right now, Congress is debating a budget that would cut $880 billion from
Medicaid—a health care program that is a lifeline for over 72 million
Americans. This critical program helps families stay healthy and
financially stable, and it also gives important support to the doctors and
hospitals we ALL depend on. A massive cut like this would be devastating
to our families and communities and it would take away the ability for
millions of people to access comprehensive, affordable health care. This
is a critical moment in the fight to protect Medicaid!

Moms Next Door is a program born out of MomsRising members’ own desires to
connect locally, to take action together, to keep learning, and to build
communities that we can depend on when times get tough. So what does this
look like in action?

* The Moms Next Door Dispatch: Every month, we’ll send out the Moms Next
Door Dispatch—a monthly toolkit sent directly to your inbox to provide
you and your local community with ideas on how to effectively organize
together and take action.
* A Monthly Zoom Workshop: We will also host a monthly community Zoom
workshop, focused on a new topic each month, where we can learn from
one another, share tools and tips, and find joy and connection through
being in community.

Earlier this month, the Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives
passed a budget resolution that would cut at least $880 billion in
Medicaid funding through 2034—which would affect 72 million Americans who
rely on this program for their health insurance. Currently, Medicaid
covers 15 million Americans with disabilities nationwide, providing
essential health coverage and life-changing support services that help
them live independently and thrive in their communities.

In Case You Missed it: Watch our April Community Meeting: Hands Off Our Care and
Our Vote

Last month, we held our April 2025 Community Meeting Hands Off Our Care
and Our Vote, featuring experts and special guests who shared insider
information on how we can take action and advocate effectively for our
families and communities. On this webinar, we learned how Trump’s $4.5
trillion tax plan would put essential programs like Medicaid, Social
Security, and Head Start at risk; how the SAVE Act will impact our right
to vote; and how, together, we can take meaningful steps to protect our
communities, our essential programs, and our rights!
