Mike for Renton Canvass Tomorrow This Saturday, May 10, 11am - 2pm Sunset Neighbor Park (2680 Sunset Ln NE)
Come door knock for Mike Westgaard's campaign for Renton City Council!
Mike is a proud union shop steward and longtime Seattle DSA member. His campaign envisions connecting our chapter to the organized labor movement and the working-class struggle in South King County. Mike is a champion for housing and transit for all, ending the war on drugs, and defending Raise the Wage Renton! Mike is running as a democratic socialist in a grassroots campaign against a Chamber of Commerce backed establishment incumbent. To win, he will need OUR HELP!
We will meet at Sunset Neighborhood Park for sign-ins and training, then head out to talk to neighbors about Mike's campaign.
First-time canvassers are welcome. We will provide training before the canvass. We will also organize carpools, please note your needs in the Action Network RSVP form. Social to follow. Please check the weather forecast and dress appropriately!

Labor for an Arms Embargo Campaign Kickoff Tomorrow! This Saturday, May 10, 10am
Join the Arms Embargo Movement on Saturday, May 10th at 10am for the launch of the National Labor Commission's Labor for an Arm's Embargo campaign!
Our campaign builds on the wins of Progressive International's No Harbor for Genocide campaign and the Palestinian Youth Movement's Mask Off Maersk campaign. Our next step is to organize our unions to demand that our seaports and airports no longer be used to sustain war crimes, genocide, or occupation!
You will hear from DSA members and international leaders about arms embargo strategies thus far and hear more about the campaign's training program which will prepare union members and DSA activists to organize for an arms embargo in their union and local area.
