Labor for an Arms Embargo!
|
Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 AM
|
Join us on May 10th at 10 AM PDT/12 PM CDT/1 PM EDT for the launch of the National Labor Commission's Labor for an Arms Embargo campaign!
Our campaign is building with the work of the Progressive International's No Harbor for Genocide campaign and the Palestinian Youth Movement's Mask off Maersk campaign. Through research done by these campaigns, we know how weapons are moved through our country onwards to sustain the genocide. We are organizing in our unions to demand that our seaports and airports no longer be used to sustain war crimes, genocide, and occupation.
You'll hear from DSA members who have been organizing in their unions around an arms embargo, as well as members of the international campaigns that we are joining about the successes they've had thus far. You'll also learn more about the trainings we are planning, to assist union members and DSA activists around organizing for an arms embargo in their union, and how to translate that organizing into a local campaign.

Participants will also learn about the history of our organization and our chapter in particular, the current projects we’re working on, and how you can get involved. This is not a lecture, but a meeting for new and veteran organizers to ground ourselves in socialist theory and discuss together how we can put it into action. We’re excited to chat with you!

Fight for Schools Rally @ SpaceX
|
Saturday, May 17 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

In their war against diversity and public education, Donald Trump and Elon Musk have threatened to rob LAUSD students of $1.2 billion of our own tax dollars — federal money allocated for school lunches, Special Education services, and Title I programs that our most vulnerable students rely on to survive and succeed in school.
Join United Teachers Los Angeles to take the fight to SpaceX on the same day as other educator-led rallies in Sacramento, San Francisco, Hanford, and San Diego. DSA-LA members can play an important role in this movement by showing up to fight alongside our public school teachers – see you on the streets!
