Legislative Update

Hello friends,

With only one full week of session left to go, we're in the final stretch. Considering the work that we have left in such little time, there is concern that we may have a special session. There’s no denying that the 23-day Democrat boycott at the beginning cost us valuable time and tightened the schedule. Even so, I’m staying focused and committed to making the most of the time we have left. I’ll keep pushing for what matters—accountability, fiscal responsibility, and protecting Minnesotans from new taxes.

Statehood Day!

Statehood Day is officially May 11th, but we celebrated a little bit early today. This year is Minnesota's 167th year as a state! It was great to celebrate such a special and historical occasion.

Events

The first 250 fans at the Austin Bruin's game tonight will get a "Road to the Robby" towel. Don't miss it!

This Sunday, May 11th, is Dad's Belgian Waffle Fundraiser!

The Mower County CEO Tradeshow is upcoming on Wednesday May 14th from 4:00-7:00pm. 

The Cedar Rivers Farmers Market is back for the season! Opening day is next Friday, May 16th.

The Taste of Nations 2025 is taking place on Saturday, May 17th from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Bandshell Community Park in Austin.

Dexter Sunflower Days is coming up quickly! The festivities are taking place on Saturday, June 14th. 

Shoutouts

Shoutout to Abby Bohlen, Blooming Prairie High School agriculture teacher, who received a grant for their "Small Engines Implementation" project. This grant will help the department implement a small engines course, providing hands-on learning opportunities. Congratulations!!

Shoutout to Snow Due, Hailie Peterson, and Brenna Lundquist who were honored as Rising Stars for MN Tech’s Aspirations in Computing Award Ceremony last weekend. Congratulations!

Congratulations to all the students that signed on to join Austin High School's Grow Your Own program. Thank you for your commitment!

Earlier this week, Grand Meadows senior Lauren Queensland tied the program high jump record. Way to go, Lauren!

Shoutout to Blooming Prairie student Ariana who placed 9th at the state adapted bowling competition recently!
