Across the country, states are preparing to face an onslaught of foreign interference in the upcoming 2020 elections from Russia, China, Iran, and others. But so far, Congress has done next to nothing.

The good news: momentum for the bipartisan Honest Ads Act continues to grow, as 37 courageous Republicans and Democrats have now put country over party by co-sponsoring the bill in the House and Senate. Reps. Brian Mast (R-FL) and Anthony Brindisi (D-NY) are the newest co-sponsors of this important bill to protect our election.

The bipartisan Honest Ads Act is one of the best first steps to stop hidden, foreign disinformation campaigns in our elections. This commonsense bill would subject online paid political ads to rules like those already in place for TV and radio.

We must fight to keep the momentum going! Become a citizen co-signer of this critical legislation and join with Issue One to demand that Congress safeguards our democracy from foreign interference.
