Brookside Center is now available for rent!
The Brookside Event Center is operational once again and now available for Hurst residents to book their events!
After evaluating the future use of this city facility over the last few years and considering the needs of our residents, Brookside will now serve as a community center available for rent exclusively to Hurst residents. The event venue accommodates up to 200 guests, has a fully-equipped kitchen available, a beautiful patio, and ample parking. The City provides the event space, and the renters handle the event's setup, teardown, and cleanup.
Proceeds from this venue will be used for renovations, some of which will take place as soon as this summer! We’re excited to offer this venue to our community and provide an excellent option for hosting a variety of events. There is availability in May and June, perfect for celebrating this year’s graduating seniors. Visit the Brookside Center page for booking information and updated pricing by clicking the button below.

Recycling Tips
The City of Hurst is encouraging residents to take a moment to reflect on the small, everyday actions that make a big difference—like recycling the right way. Recycling helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills, but only when it’s done correctly. Contaminated or improperly sorted items can cause problems at recycling facilities and reduce the effectiveness of our community’s efforts.
Here are a few tips to help you recycle more effectively:
Rinse & dry items. Be sure to rinse bottles, cans, and jars. Food resident and liquids can contaminate other recyclables. You can also remove labels to help the sorting process at recycling facilities.
Break down cardboard boxes. Flattening your cardboard boxes saves space in your bin and reduces the volume of waste.
Make sure your recycling bin lid can close. Keeping your bin lid closed prevents your recyclables from scattering in the wind. It also helps ensure your bin has not been overloaded. The recycling bin should not weigh more than 50 pounds.

 2025 Youth in Government Graduates
Congratulations to the 2025 HEB Youth in Government graduating class and scholarship winners!
The 18 students who participated in the program this year gained a better understanding of the impact local government has on the community while building relationships with each other, city staff, and officials. It was a great program this year, and we are grateful for the partnership between the cities of Hurst, Euless, and Bedford and the HEB Chamber of Commerce to offer this opportunity to local high school juniors and seniors. We also appreciate Republic Services for graciously providing the college scholarships each year!
Information on the 2026 HEB Youth in Government program will be available later this year on the HEB Chamber's website, heb.org.
 Hurst Boulevard Vision Open House
Monday, May 12 | 5 - 7 p.m. Hurst Conference Center: Meeting Room 1 1601 Campus Dr. Hurst, TX 76054
Help build the vision for the Hurst Boulevard/SH 10 Corridor Redevelopment Plan! The City of Hurst, in collaboration with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), is conducting a comprehensive corridor redevelopment study.
Join us for an informal come and go open house and share your input on land use and transportation for the Hurst Boulevard Vision - SH 10 Corridor Redevelopment Plan. Representatives from NCTCOG, TxDOT, and the City of Hurst will be there. The meeting is strictly for our community to provide their input on a still undecided redevelopment plan for the SH 10 corridor. If you are unable to attend the meeting, leave a detailed message at publicinput.com/hurstboulevard. The study area is a 3.2 mile stretch of State Highway 10 between I-820 and Bell Flight Blvd.
This redevelopment study is focused on land uses and opportunities to connect multi-modal transportation to SH 10 (i.e., connecting the TRE Station to retail areas or possibly creating new trails system). This is meant to help advance goals considering economic development (i.e., businesses, retail, grocery), multi-modal transportation, and safety along the existing TxDOT State Highway 10 roadway.
