Tuesday, May 9th, 2023. 

That was the day I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate. The day we laid out a new vision for Maryland’s future. The day my life changed forever.

That day, in an email a lot like this one, I wrote: 

"There will be bumps on the journey ahead. But as I write this, there’s not a doubt in my mind that we’ll overcome them together.”

I had no idea what lay in store for us, but I was right on the money.

No part of this has been easy, but wow — look at all we’ve achieved together:

We overcame a primary challenge by a self-funded billionaire with limitless resources. 

We defeated Mitch McConnell’s hand-selected GOP recruit, Larry Hogan.

We built a campaign founded on hope, action, and opportunity. 

We made history here in Maryland.

These have been two transformative and turbulent years for America. Together, we’ve faced down a future that feels uncertain and, at times, downright scary. 

There’s one thing, however, that hasn’t changed since that spring day two years ago: I'm honored to be entrusted with your family’s future, and I promise I will not let you down.
