Celebrating 30 Years of Affordable Housing with Merced Housing
This week, my district staff recognized 30 years of affordable housing with Merced Housing Texas. They celebrated their decades-long work of housing justice in San Antonio and our commitment to creating strong and healthy communities.

It was great to see some familiar faces on Capitol Hill on Tuesday during National Small Business Week, where we celebrated the Latino entrepreneurs who drive the economy forward. Thank you to Aquí and the Latino Community Foundation for advocating for our community.

Letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Inhumane Conditions at Louisiana Detention Center
This week, I called on DHS to investigate a Louisiana detention center rife with inhumane treatment and abuse. Several reports have emerged documenting serious violations of due process. The American people deserve transparency and accountability from the institutions that enforce our immigration laws.

Letter to Israeli Government Demanding that the Israeli Government Stop its Blockade on Gaza
I joined nearly 100 colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives to demand that the Israeli government stop its months long blockade of food and aid to Gaza. Many, including thousands of children, are starving. This policy is morally wrong, and we demand an end to this blockade.
