Red-tailed Hawk, Cynthia Sedlacek
When: Wednesday, May 14, 7:00 PM ET
Where: Virtual

More than one billion birds die from window collisions in the United States every year. NVBA’s Bird Safe NOVA campaign ([link removed]) is a partnership with seven other northern Virginia environmental organizations that focuses on reducing the hazards to birds from light pollution and collisions with windows and other reflective surfaces.
We are pleased to announce a program that addresses the issues on which Bird Safe NOVA focuses: The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is offering a free webinar on why glass is such a huge threat to birds and how we can all do our part to make our homes safer for our feathered friends. The speakers include Scientist Andrew Farnsworth, a Visiting Scientist with Cornell Lab; Christine Sheppard, the Glass Collisions Program Director for the American Bird Conservancy; and Brendon Samuels of Canada’s groundbreaking Fatal Light Awareness Program. You can register for the program here ([link removed]) .
