President Trump's Fitst 100 Days Have Been
Nothing Short of Transformational. | In the first 100 days since
returning to the White House, President Trump has enacted
transformative changes, from here in Washington to back home in
Wyoming. Under President Trump’s leadership, we are seeing
campaign promises kept. Our government is making our communities
safer, saving our hard-earned taxpayer dollars, and once again working
for the people. President Trump pledged to unleash American
energy dominance, and the approval of the Dry Creek Trona Mine marks a
major milestone in powering our nation. This project will create
hundreds of good-paying jobs right here in Wyoming and strengthen our
domestic supply chain to help lower costs. For years, the Biden
administration shuttered domestic energy production—raising
prices, eliminating jobs, and exposing America to energy insecurity. A
strong America begins with a strong power source, and President Trump
is turning the lights back on for American energy. Southern
border crossings hit a record low in March, reaching 94% lower than
daily border apprehensions this time last year. By securing the
border, President Trump is halting the flow of fentanyl and stopping
violent gang members and criminals from entering our country. For the
first time in a long time, we have a president who is truly putting
America First. From restoring protections for women’s
sports to eliminating billions in waste, fraud, and abuse, President
Trump’s administration is building a better future for our
children. Senator John Barrasso and I recently held a telephone town
hall with Doug Collins, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The
Secretary highlighted key efforts to improve care for Wyoming’s
veterans and strengthen VA services across the Cowboy State. This
remains the most transparent and accessible administration in U.S.
history, and I’m confident the next 100 days will be just as
transformative for the people of Wyoming. Happy Trails,

Senator Lummis' Week in
Pictures | I had a great meeting with
Jared Isaacman. He is dedicated to restoring mission clarity and bold
leadership to NASA, and I have no doubt he will reignite American
space exploration. I was so happy to welcome
Cody High School students to Washington as they competed in the We the
People national competition! These students are making Wyoming
proud. It was an honor to attend
the Wyoming Congressional Awards alongside Mateo Magdaleno from the
national board. I am always so proud of the service-minded youth
making the Cowboy State a better place. Our future is looking bright
with these leaders! I had another wonderful
morning at Wyoming Wednesday! Hearing stories and sharing laughs with
people throughout the Cowboy State is the best part of my
week. |
Legislative Actions | As the Senate Western Caucus
chair, I was proud to introduce the Forest Protection and Wildland
Firefighter Safety Act of 2025, a bipartisan and bicameral bill
to ensure Wyoming’s firefighters have the resources they need
readily available to combat wildfires. Without timely access to fire
retardant, lives and homes are at risk. In an emergency, we cannot
afford to let bureaucracy slow down our response, and this legislation
ensures firefighters have the tools they need to protect lives,
property, and public lands. I joined Senator Kirsten
Gillibrand (D-NY), Representative Lisa McClain (R-MI), and
Representative Robert Garcia (D-CA) in introducing the Common
Cents Act, bipartisan legislation, backed by President Trump, to
suspend production of the penny and save American taxpayers money. The
fiscal reality is undeniable: the U.S. Mint spends three cents to
produce each one-cent coin. With a $36 trillion national debt, we have
to implement meaningful opportunities to reduce costs, update our
currency system, and codify the elimination of government
inefficiencies. In 2017, Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi introduced the
similar COINS Act to suspend minting of the penny to invest in a
future that works for the 21st century economy. It
just makes cents! The Trump administration’s approval of
the Dry Creek Trona Mine in Sweetwater County is welcome news and
demonstrates yet again President Trump’s commitment to
delivering for the people of Wyoming. This vital development will
create hundreds of good-paying jobs for hardworking Wyoming families
while strengthening our domestic supply chain for essential minerals
that keep costs lower at the store for everyday Americans. This
development is expected to create approximately 2,000 construction
positions initially, followed by 300 permanent jobs that will
sustain local families throughout the mine’s operational
lifespan. Wyoming’s rich natural resources continue to provide
both traditional and forward-looking opportunities for our
communities. By supporting responsible resource development right here
at home instead of relying on foreign countries, President Trump and
Secretary Burgum are putting America First and ensuring Wyoming
continues to lead the way in powering our nation’s economic
prosperity. | Casework Win | After the passing of a loved one, a Wyoming
constituent turned to my office for help recovering a family
member’s tax return. Despite being tangled in red tape and
setbacks—including a corrected mailing address, a CPA’s
overpayment, and additional documentation requests from the IRS, my
team remained committed to supporting the family during this difficult
time. Thanks to ongoing communication and persistence, the IRS finally
issued the $12,300 overpayment, and with it, the family could close
the estate and take a meaningful step forward. |
Wyoming
Shoutout | A big
Wyoming shoutout to Green River High School Junior Isa Vasco! She
captained the U.S. U17 ODP National Team to victory in Italy. She was
also named Best Attacker and Most Exciting Player of the Torneo for
her incredible grit and determination. Isa is just one of the few
players in Wyoming to play for the U.S. Youth Soccer National Team.
Congratulations, Isa! | |
