Republicans know their billionaire-first budget has significantly worsened their chances for reelection, so now they’re pushing the SAVE Act in a last-ditch effort to attack voting rights and save their seats.

This extreme Republican bill would require voters to provide proof of U.S. citizenship to re-register, making it harder for millions of Americans to vote ahead of several key elections.

Included in that group are 2.5 million women in Illinois whose last name differs from the one on their birth certificate, usually because they changed their name after getting married.

This is what Republicans are focused on — disenfranchising millions of women and other marginalized groups. It’s despicable, and Lauren is standing up against every attempt to silence voters.
