General Newsletter From the Office of Senator Andy Kim

Happy Friday, New Jersey!

This week, Senator Kim was at the Capitol working to defend people’s Social Security, promoting mental health for Mental Health Awareness Month, celebrating small businesses during Small Business Week, and talking about how Trump’s tariffs will hurt families and small businesses in New Jersey and across the country. Senator Kim also pressed the FAA to make clear to him and the entire country exactly what is happening at Newark Airport and why delays are so severe.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU ABOUT SMALL BUSINESSES:

President Trump’s tariffs are a major tax on New Jersey families and small businesses. There are over 950,000 small businesses in our state that employ nearly 2 million people, and Trump’s trade war is putting a lot of our economy at risk. Senator Kim knows how important small businesses and small business owners are to our New Jersey communities and will continue to support them along with working families in the Senate.

Senator Kim would like to hear from you. If you’re a small business owner, how are Trump’s tariffs affecting you? If you’re willing to share your story, please do here

You can see more highlights below from this week’s work in New Jersey and DC:

CALLING FOR TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY AT DELANEY HALL:

Senator Kim recently visited the ICE detention center in Elizabeth, New Jersey to make sure that people who were being held there were being treated with dignity.

Now, as Delaney Hall reopens, Senator Kim is going to work to make sure they are operating with people as their priority. You can read his full statement here

CELEBRATING NEW JERSEY PUBLIC SCHOOLS BEING RANKED #1 IN THE COUNTRY:

This week, U.S. News and World Report said that New Jersey has the #1 ranked schools in the country. We are proud of that and proud of the incredible educators who make that possible. Supporting the next generation of leaders is important because we are what they grow beyond. During Teacher Appreciation Week, Senator Kim and our entire office want to honor the work of so many teachers who go above and beyond for students every single day.
