Hey John— this is urgent, so I just wanted to make sure this was at the top of your inbox.
House Republicans could decide on drastic cuts to Medicaid funding as early as Monday, which will be catastrophic to people across the country, including millions of Gen Z students who depend on Medicaid to access affordable healthcare.
I spoke about Medicaid at the recent Capitol sit-in with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and U.S. Senator Cory Booker — and our Voters of Tomorrow team is dedicated to doing everything we can to protect healthcare for millions.
Subject: Medicaid cuts could impact nearly 37 million kids
John— Republicans are still working to defund Medicaid.
The GOP’s proposed cuts could leave nearly 37 million kids without health insurance or a way to access affordable healthcare.
Slashing Medicaid would also have devastating impacts on college students. Close to 20% of college students in states that have expanded Medicaid are enrolled in the program, which has led to better health outcomes and more financial stability for young people beginning their careers.
I know how harmful these cuts would be firsthand. I’m not only Voters of Tomorrow’s Policy Director — I’m also a college student and an EMT. My patients and the campus community I love would both suffer if the GOP has their way.
With your support, we can build the majority we need that will stand up for the next generation and invest in the safety nets that allow us to thrive.
Thanks for your support,
Grace Friedman
