*Michigan Gaming Control Board targets 14 offshore gambling operators with cease-and-desist orders*
DETROIT, May 9, 2025 — As part of its ongoing commitment to uphold Michigan’s gaming laws and protect the public from illegal and unregulated wagering, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist orders to 14 online gambling operators unlawfully targeting Michigan residents.
The unlicensed platforms—*BetFlip*, *BetMania*, *Casino Castle*, *Casino Extreme*, *Casobet Casino*, *EmuCasino*, *Golden Lion*, *Gossip Slots*, *Irish Luck Casino*, *Juicy Stakes.com*, *Juicy Stakes.eu*, *Lotus Asia Casino*, *Red Lion Casino*, and *SlotGems Casino*—have been found to be offering internet gaming and sports betting without the proper approvals required under Michigan law.
“These sites operate in the shadows of the law, offering no guarantees to players and no accountability to the public,” said *Henry Williams, MGCB Executive Director*. “The MGCB’s enforcement efforts are both relentless and unwavering. We will continue to identify and take action against illegal gambling operations that threaten the integrity of our regulated market and place Michigan residents at risk.”
*A Clear Violation of Michigan Law*
Following investigations, the MGCB determined that the named offshore operators were actively soliciting and accepting wagers on everything from traditional casino games to sports betting, all without being licensed or regulated in Michigan. These operations violate the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code.
Beyond violating state laws, unregulated gambling websites often lack even the most basic consumer protections. Players using these platforms are exposed to potential fraud, delayed or denied payouts, and an absence of responsible gaming tools or dispute resolution channels.
*Enforcement Actions Underway*
The MGCB has ordered each operator to cease all gaming activity involving Michigan residents immediately. They have 14 days to comply, or face escalated legal action in partnership with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
*Help Protect Michigan Consumers*
The MGCB urges the public to stay vigilant. Anyone with information about illegal gambling activities can report tips anonymously by calling 1-888-314-2682 or emailing
[email protected] (not anonymous).
