Dear FAMMily,
With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day around the corner, we're focusing on parents and children impacted by the criminal justice system – celebrating their resilience and strong relationships, despite the odds. For the next two months, FAMM will be sharing stories with you about children, their caregivers, fathers, and mothers.
We’re kicking things off with a special FAMM Storytelling Workshop, How Your Experience as a Parent or Caregiver Can Help You Push for Reform. This event will focus on the experiences of parents, caregivers, and children impacted by incarceration, and how those can strengthen your own advocacy.
This session will help you create your advocacy story based on the experience of you or your loved one parenting from prison, caring for the child of an incarcerated parent, or growing up with an incarcerated parent. You’ll learn how to connect your lived experience to a clear advocacy action, creating an important advocacy story you can share with lawmakers to gain their support for reform -- whether it’s in person or in writing.
Please join us Wednesday, May 14, 6:00-7:00 p.m. Eastern time, on Zoom. You must register to attend by clicking here: https://act.famm.org/a/storytelling-workshop-4
