Colonel Stevenson serves as House Minority Floor Leader in the Kentucky Legislature. She is often the only Democratic member to break through to Republican leadership to make the bad bills better. Her Republican opponent in the General election will likely be a minion of Mitch McConnell – the longest-serving Republican party leader in U.S. Senate history.

McConnell developed a reputation as “Dr. No” during former President Obama’s term. He blocked Obama’s pick for a vacancy on the Supreme Court, paving the way for Roe v. Wade to be overturned. He unified Republicans against the Affordable Care Act, and then, after it passed, he sought to undo the law. He has voted against IVF. He has an A+ rating with the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America scorecard for consistently voting against reproductive rights. He voted against the Family and Medical Leave Act, opposes same-sex marriage, voted against the Equal Pay Act, voted against raising the federal minimum wage… and so much more.

Mitch McConnell has been horrible for America, and after enduring him for decades, the people of Kentucky – and our country as a whole – deserve better. This is truly a once-in-a-generation chance to elect someone amazing to replace him as his seat in Washington is FINALLY open.
