A NOTE FROM CHRISSY
MY BIPARTISAN BILL PASSED THE HOUSE
There isn’t a lot that Democrats and Republicans in Congress agree on these days but one glimmer of hope was the unanimous passage of my bill, the Mathematical and Statistical Modeling Education Act. This bill will provide grants to K-12 schools to support innovative STEM curricula, ensuring our students can become the best in the world and are not left behind in the global economy. Now, I urge the Senate to also pass this bill so we can get it signed into law. Learn more about the bill here.

HUMANITARIAN AID TO GAZA
As famine spreads and the loss of life continues, I joined almost 100 of my fellow Democrats in Congress to call on the Israeli government to lift the blockade of humanitarian assistance into Gaza. While I share concerns about Hamas diverting the aid, I believe the United States, the Israeli government, and humanitarian organizations on the ground should do what they can to minimize the risk and get the relief to Palestinian civilians.
PAID LEAVE IN PENNSYLVANIA
I’ve been a leader on pushing paid leave policies at the federal level. In fact, I introduced bipartisan legislation last week on paid leave - legislation that was more than two years in the making. The Pennsylvania House Labor and Industry Committee has advanced the Family Care Act, a bill to create a paid family leave program in our state and I'm encouraged to see paid leave progressing in Pennsylvania. I urge State Rep. McClinton to bring this bill to the statehouse floor for a vote to show the rest of the nation what’s possible and provide this crucial benefit to Pennsylvanians. I’ll keep doing the same in Washington.
I VOTED "NO" ON THE SAVE ACT
In April, House GOP Representatives passed the SAVE Act, an extremely misleading bill that will make it more difficult for all Americans to vote – especially women and troops stationed overseas. This is not voter reform, it's voter suppression – and it will impact thousands of people in Berks and Chester counties. As your elected representative, working tirelessly to protect our democracy, this was an easy NO vote for me.
SIGNALGATE
We learned that senior national security officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, shared war planning information over a Signal group chat, putting our national security and the lives of troops at risk. Like you, I was shocked.
As an Air Force veteran and a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I understand – to my core – how reckless and dangerous this behavior is. That's why I introduced legislation to require Secretary Hegseth to do the right thing and step down. I’m fighting to hold those responsible accountable – and I won't stop until they are.
PENN STATE BERKS COMMENCEMENT
On Saturday, I have the honor of speaking to this year’s Penn State Berks graduating class. It's an absolute privilege to speak to the next generation of leaders, and I can't thank Penn State enough for having me.
I wish you a terrific Mother’s Day weekend. There's work to be done,
Chrissy
