John,
May 8, 1945. Victory in Europe Day. It was a moment when, all across the Allied world, people took to the streets — not to celebrate conquest but to mark the end of a brutal, authoritarian nightmare that had nearly swallowed our planet.
But it wasn't only a military victory. It was a political one, too. A collective decision that fascism had no place in a free society.
Today, on VE Day, we remember that moment not just to honor the past but because the threat we once stood together to defeat is showing itself again, this time, here at home.
The MAGA movement isn't some fringe curiosity or populist sideshow. It's a coordinated assault on democracy powered by grievance, nationalism, and a willingness to abandon legal and ethical limits in the pursuit of power.
Remember: Donald Trump has dined with open neo-Nazis, and praised Adolf Hitler as “smart”, welcomed fascist salutes at his own inauguration, and he has insulted the memory of American veterans who gave their lives at Normandy, calling them “suckers” and “losers.” Meanwhile, Trump loyalists have already tried to overturn an election, and right now, they're banning books, rewriting history, and targeting vulnerable communities with glee. If given the chance, we know they'll go further.
That's why GOTV is fighting tough elections today in San Antonio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, and anywhere else we can find to defeat MAGA extremism at the ballot box.
But we cannot do it without your help.
Will you donate $25 today to help GOTV PAC stop the rise of American authoritarianism in its tracks?
