Got yard work on your weekend list? The Village’s free brush collection has begun!
Zone B: Begins May 12
For the best service, place brush at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday of your collection week—but not before noon the Friday before. Pile brush neatly with branch ends facing the same direction. No containers or piles in the street, please.

From May 9 through June 6, the Village of Oswego is honored to host the Illinois Fallen Wall, a tribute that commemorates every Illinois service member killed in action since September 11, 2001.
Presented by the Chris Patterson Memorial Foundation, this powerful display features the faces and names of our state’s fallen heroes — a solemn reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made in service to our country.
The memorial will be open to the public in the Village Hall Lobby, located at 100 Parkers Mill, during the following hours:
Special ceremonies will bookend the memorial's time in Oswego:
-
Opening Ceremony: Friday, May 9 at 3 p.m.
-
Closing Ceremony: Friday, June 6 at 10:30 a.m.
We encourage all residents to take time to visit, reflect, and pay their respects. This display not only honors the lives lost but also strengthens our community’s connection to the values of courage, service, and sacrifice.

Don't wait until it's too late! Register by May 12 if you're looking to participate in the Oswego Community Yard Sale on June 6 & 7.
Host a sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days or just one. The Village helps promote the sale by placing a print ad in the Oswego Ledger with lists of neighborhoods and participating addresses. The cost to register is $9, plus applicable fees, to offset the Village's advertising costs. Learn more and register today.
If you miss the deadline, don’t sweat it! You can still participate by placing your own yard sale signs out. Your address will not be listed in the advertising materials. No matter what time of the year you host a yard or garage sale, refer to the Village's guidelines:
- A permit is not needed to host a sale.
- Signs may not be posted on utility posts or street signs.
- No more than TWO signs are allowed on your property.
- Remove all signs at the close of the sale.
