UPDATE: Mohsen Mahdawi, the Palestinian Vermonter who was released from federal custody [ [link removed] ] last week, has refused to remain quiet and is warning that American Democracy is under threat. Lisa Senecal spoke with his Congresswoman, the outspoken Representative Becca Balint, about his current situation and the state of our Democracy.
Like Mahdawi, Rep. Balint is a fighter (see Exhibit A, below). She’s the first LGBTQ+ congressperson to represent her state, and the granddaughter of a man killed in the Holocaust. Lisa’s conversation with her is for any of you who are feeling hopeless. So long as you’re alive, there is fighting left to do.
