Dear Green American,
I need your help to push grocery giant Target to step up to save bees from BEE-KILLING pesticides. Pollinator populations are on a downward spiral. Over the last few decades, the beloved Western Bumblebee population has dropped 93%.
Bees are responsible for 1 in 3 bites of food we eat, so if these pollinator declines continue, they are a direct threat to the food system that keeps us all alive.
It’s not just bees, though. EPA research found that neonics threaten the continued existence of more than 200 endangered species! Grocery stores across the country sell food grown with these toxic pesticides anyway. Please tell Target to stand up for endangered species by getting toxic pesticides out of their supply chains.

The climate and biodiversity crises are sending many endangered species hurtling toward extinction. And pesticides are a driver of the biodiversity crisis. Neonics seep into our waterways and threaten aquatic species. Some songbirds can die from eating just one neonic-treated seed.
From apples and spinach to corn and soy in packaged foods, many of the foods that Target sells are grown with neonics. These pesticides can be absorbed into the food itself and cannot be washed off. Neonics are linked to serious health issues like birth defects of the heart and brain and hormone disruption. Will you sign and urge Target to protect people, pollinators, and endangered species?

Standing with you,
