At the Emerge 20th Anniversary Gala last week, keynote speaker VP Kamala Harris delivered a powerful reminder: in the face of fear comes courage.

In just over 100 days since Donald Trump’s return to the White House, he’s threatened reckless trade wars that will invite a recession, ignored court orders threatening the people’s constitutional rights, and pushed for cuts to Medicaid and Social Security to pay for tax cuts for his ultra-wealthy donors and supporters.

Trump and his allies are abusing every loophole, testing our system of checks and balances, and consolidating power in pursuit of a narrow, self-serving vision for America – one where truth tellers are punished, loyalists are rewarded, and working families are left to fend for themselves.
