They must prioritize women and children, not billionaires!

Dear John,

Republican leaders in Congress should be calling hearings to assess the impact on the MILLIONS of people who could lose access to health care because of the huge cuts to Medicaid funding in their proposed budget. Instead, the DOGE Subcommittee on Oversight wasted time and resources yesterday to call an “emergency” hearing just to attack trans people in the sport of fencing. We need to make sure Congress knows their constituents are paying attention and are not falling for distractions and hateful rhetoric.

Tell Congress: Prioritize Women and Families, Not Tax Breaks for Billionaires

We must save Medicaid, SNAP, child care assistance, and more.

TAKE ACTION

If Congress really wanted to support women and girls, they would use the budget to invest in SNAP, Medicaid, child care, care for older and disabled family members, and a permanent, fully refundable Child Tax Credit. But Republican leaders in Congress would rather capitulate to Trump’s demands and cut these programs, all to give tax breaks to billionaires.

These Republicans don’t want you to realize what they’re actually proposing to do:

  • Cutting $880 billion in Medicaid funding, which covers 80 million people for vital services like birth control, maternity care, prescription drugs, and supporting aging or disabled adults who need in-home care.
  • Slashing $230 billion from SNAP, which helps over 42 million people put food on the table at a time when grocery bills are astronomical.
  • Taking child care away from 40,000 children and disrupting care for millions more.

Dehumanizing trans people will not solve any of the issues people in this country are facing right now, and robbing us of essential programs will just make life harder for everyone. Take action to tell representatives in Congress to do their jobs, instead of holding sham hearings!
