John, earlier this month, I joined my friend, Governor Andy Beshear, on his podcast.
Head Start, AmeriCorps, and Meals on Wheels are programs that are meant to uplift folks across all demographics and communities. In my personal experience, I've seen AmeriCorps volunteers change lives through service work in disadvantaged communities. I've heard from mothers whose children could only count on regular meals thanks to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP.) John, it shouldn't be controversial to uplift your neighbor, but the Trump administration is cutting millions of dollars in funding that would be used to support Americans. In March, he announced over $230 billion cuts to SNAP, a program that keeps families from going hungry. Two weeks ago, AmeriCorps volunteers that were already knee deep in projects benefiting communities were placed on leave. The recent slashes to the Department of Health and Human Services are threatening Meals on Wheels — a situation that could mean life or death for seniors across the country. In the words of my friend Andy, this just ain't right. Add your name to demand the Trump administration back off programs that help fellow Americans like Head Start, AmeriCorps, and Meals on Wheels. Together, we can ensure our government works for our neighbors, not special interests >> Thank you, Chris
