DEVELOPING... House Republicans are in committee meetings now, preparing to push forward the most destructive bill of Trump’s presidency.
When he took office, Trump called for “one big, beautiful bill” covering virtually every harmful MAGA priority, from cutting healthcare for low-income people, to slashing pay for federal workers, to giving handouts to fossil fuel executives and gutting clean energy incentives.
As debate on that bill advances, one part of the plan is selling off public lands in order to fund tax cuts for billionaires. But Republicans have a problem: they know this is deeply unpopular, even with some in their own party. And if they lose more than three votes, their plan will fall apart.

We have a real chance to stop them from selling off our nation’s public lands to Big Polluters to enrich the wealthiest people in the country. But we need your help, Friend.
Let’s be clear: public lands belong to all of us. And people across the political spectrum want to see them protected and open for everyone to enjoy.
These are the places where people take their families to hike and fish, gather with family and friends on once-in-a-lifetime trips, and connect with our shared history and nature. These treasured landscapes power local economies and house irreplaceable ecosystems.
We need your help to protect them. Here’s what your gift will do:
- Power a grassroots movement to oppose the sale of public lands by organizing people to join protests and rallies around the country. Attacks on public lands are wildly unpopular in blue AND red states — and we need lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to feel the heat.
- Support targeted actions to pressure Congress to protect public lands. That means making sure critical members of Congress are getting non-stop calls and letters from their constituents demanding protections for our lands.
- Push for action at the state level. Your support funds our work with partners around the country to mobilize the public to demand action from state legislatures, too.

Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike want to see public lands protected, not sold off for oil and gas drilling to fund tax cuts for the ultra-rich. This is a fight we can win.
Let’s send a message to Congress, loud and clear: we won’t let them take what belongs to all of us to enrich polluters or bankroll tax cuts for the wealthy.
Thank you for being with us in this fight.
