Three major labor unions – Virginia Beach Professional Fire & EMS (IAFF Local 2924), the Virginia State Building and Construction Trades Council, and the Teamsters Joint Council 83 – have all come forward and voiced their support for my campaign.

John, I grew up in Virginia Beach in low-income housing. Everyone in my family had to work to make ends meet. I started working when I was ten years old, and never stopped.
Even when I was blessed to play in the NFL, I never forgot where I came from. I became a lifetime member of the NFL Players Association, and it showed me how much stronger our voices are when we organize and stand together.
I’ll always be on the side of the hard-working Virginians who keep the Commonwealth running. I’ll stand by the labor movement fighting for safety, dignity, and fair compensation.
You deserve leadership that works as hard as you do, and that’s why I need you to know: Chipping in to my campaign is a contribution to getting Virginia the pro-union LG it deserves!
