It may be hard to believe, but yesterday we hit the milestone of 100 days since the first confirmed case of Coronavirus in our state. Since that time we have made tremendous progress and Governor Murphy and his team continue to work hard to keep our state safe and responsibly reopen it. Without a proven treatment or vaccine, there are three main pillars of the state’s response -- social distancing, testing and contact tracing. While social distancing has been widely adopted and testing capacity is now meeting the Governor’s ambitious goals, ramping up contact tracing is the next step in our recovery.

Over the next month the state will hire thousands of contact tracers to do the vital work of reaching out to people who test positive for COVID-19 to get necessary information to keep all of safe. You can learn much more about contact tracing here, including what information a tracer may ask you, what steps are being taken to protect your privacy, how contact tracing saves lives and much more.

For up to date information regarding new cases and directives regarding coronavirus, visit the state’s dedicated COVID-19 Information Hub or follow Governor Murphy’s official pages on social media.
