Tri-County Green Schools Celebrations
Green Schools

Congratulations to the 76 schools that achieved Green Schools status for 2024-2025!  This year, the Macomb County Board of Commissioners held two events to celebrate the schools and the Macomb County Green Schools program.

The first event occurred at the MISD the morning of April 23rd. Commissioners presented certificates to the schools with their status, special awards for sustainability and creativity, and announced the winners of the logo contest and Green Advocate designation.

The second celebration, hosted by the Detroit Zoo on May 1st, was a Tri-County event organized by the Macomb, Oakland and Wayne County Green School Coordinators.  Over 1,500 people from schools across the three counties attended and were able to explore the zoo and earn prizes.

Thank you to all schools who participated in the Green Schools program this year!
