Hi Friend,
Thank you to everyone who participated in the National Day of Action to Protect CVI! Hundreds of CVI leaders, frontline workers, survivors, and advocates, and elected officials speaking out against the Trump Administration's reckless cancellation of CVI grant awards.
Together, we raised our voices and made our message clear: community violence intervention must be protected, funded, and prioritized. But the work doesn’t stop until our demands are met so we ask you to keep up the momentum with us.
Here’s What We Accomplished — Together:
Washington, DC Flagship Event:
At the House Triangle, Members of Congress stood alongside CVI practitioners and survivors, declaring their commitment to fully restoring CVIPI funds and elevating CVI as an essential public safety strategy.

10 Anchor Community Activations:
From Los Angeles to Newark, Oakland to Cleveland, local leaders mobilized in city halls, public forums, and peace walks. We shared stories, delivered demands, and showed the nation what collective power looks like.
What’s Next:
Share photos and videos from the Day of Action on social media , including powerful remarks from Congresswoman Robin Kelly (D-IL) and Congressman Steven Horsford (D-NV) during the Washington, DC press event which can be viewed on Instagram @cjactionfund [[link removed]] and @citiesunited [[link removed]] . Continue using the #ProtectCVI hashtag and graphics to keep the momentum going.
Contact your Members of Congress and ask them to demand that the DOJ restore the canceled grant awards.

Stay tuned for federal updates and next steps as we work to turn momentum into sustained funding.
We are grateful for each of you who showed up, spoke out, and continue to lead this work every day. We fight for what we are building. We shape what’s possible.
Thank you for being a part of this community of practice.
In solidarity,
Team Community Justice
