Friend,

This Sunday will mark the 4th anniversary of the Community Justice Action Fund. We built this organization hand in hand with community organizers of gun violence, and for four years, we've worked fiercely to bring power back to where it belongs — to the hands of those who have been directly impacted.

In the last four years, we've created a robust network of hundreds of leaders of color committed to ending gun violence. We've trained, empowered and propelled them into action during pivotal moments in cities like Baltimore, Maryland, Chicago, New York, Charlotte, Los Angeles and Houston.

We've worked to influence and create policy that works for us. Our Policymakers for Peace initiative has brought together over 30 state and local elected officials from across the country, who have all committed to reducing gun violence through legislation and by centering those closest to the pain.

Today, as our country mourns not only the deaths of Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, George Floyd, and Ahmaud Arbery - we also remember the lives we lost four years ago in the Pulse Shooting. As our comrades across the country take to the streets to protest gun violence by police and fight for systemic change, we know that our work is just starting. Our commitment to you is that we'll continue to push the boundary for the next four years, and here's how you could join us:

1. Daily Livestream Conversations: On June 15th at noon, we'll start daily conversations from our Instagram [[link removed]] and Facebook [[link removed]] accounts to talk about how to #InvestInUs and build safer, healthier communities of color.

2. National Day of Healing : On June 19th, we'll come together with partners to host a day of healing for our minds, bodies, and spirits. We will address layers of trauma, celebrate life and life lost, and learn techniques on how to stay healthy during these difficult times. Register here to attend [[link removed]] .

3. What Happens Next Webinar : On June 23rd, we'll be hosting a webinar on "The State of Black America and Gun Violence Policy: Investing In Us". More details to come soon.

4. On our 4th Birthday, we hope you'll consider pitching in $44 to help us continue to create change from the ground up. [[link removed]]

We're grateful to have you in our corner, and we can't wait to continue to get into some good trouble together. Thanks for being part of our community.

In solidarity,

Amber Goodwin
