Dear John,
In last week’s local elections in England we elected 370 councillors, gaining 163, and gained control of 3 councils.
This is the first time in history that the Liberal Democrats have beaten both the Conservatives and Labour at the same local elections and it means that we now control more councils than the Conservatives.
These results are also our 7th set of gains in a row - our best ever winning streak at local elections.
You can see a full breakdown of our results on our website, here. | | John, there’s a real sense of momentum behind us.
Liberal Democrat councillors across the country are getting straight to work - driving change in their communities and standing firm for fairness, openness, and compassion.
But we can’t afford to look away from a darker development. Nigel Farage’s Reform party, fuelled by wealthy backers and populist politics, is gaining ground - pulling support from both the Conservatives and Labour.
Make no mistake: Reform threatens the values we hold most dear. Their politics of fear and division endanger everything we believe in.
But we must not give up on our sense of hope - it must drive us in the face of this threat.
We must be the antidote to Reform’s hate and division - and you can play your part. | | While the Conservatives and Labour are pandering to the likes of Nigel Farage and Donald Trump, the Liberal Democrats offer a real alternative - a voice of reason against the noise, and a force for unity in the face of populism.
So, John, if you are worried about the rise of Reform and everything they stand for - there is something you can do to stand up against it.
Join the Liberal Democrats - stand with us, and make a difference.
Help us continue to grow, to share our alternative message, and help us deliver further wins in the future. | | Thank you for your support.
Best wishes, | | | Liberal Democrats | | | | | |
