As a Latina actress, I know how important it is to have a seat at the table. Whether it's in Hollywood or Washington, representation has never mattered more.

That's why I'm proud to invite you to join me and Secretary Julián Castro at People First Future's first virtual grassroots fundraiser this Tuesday with Candance Valenzuela, ahead of her July runoff election in Texas.

Candance overcame incredible odds, experiencing homelessness and poverty at a young age. But with the support of a good education, Candace became an educator, mother, and champion for her community.

She was the first Latina elected to her community's school board, and has fought her entire career so that more children can get a quality education and live out their own dreams.

Now she's running to represent Texas's 24th district in Congress — and she needs our help. With only a month until Election Day, she's counting on grassroots supporters like us to help her cross the finish line.
