Friends — The Palestinian people will remain in Gaza.

Trump is once again pushing his proposal for the US to occupy Gaza and forcefully expel the Palestinians living there, while Israel continues its deadly 18 month bombardment of the strip.

To be clear, Trump’s plan would be a world-historic war crime. It’s ethnic cleansing, plain and simple.

But beyond that, this plan has no support among the international community, and I am confident that it will get no support from the American public.

Americans don’t want to see our troops sent to fight and die in another indefinite occupation in the Middle East, and certainly not for the sole reason of appeasing far-right leaders in the Israeli government and violent settlers who have played the biggest role in blocking any potential for peace in Israel and Palestine.

The Palestinian people have called this land home long before the events of the last two years, and long before 1948. The Palestinian people will remain in Gaza.

It’s now the responsibility of anyone who believes in dignity and freedom for Palestinians; anyone who believes in the need for international law; anyone who opposes hatred and violence, to make their voice heard.

Add your name to our petition telling Congress to hold the line on Gaza and block Trump’s plan. Our leaders shouldn’t sit back while Trump helps Netanyahu carry out ethnic cleansing.

Donald Trump’s proposals would be a disaster for human rights and the promise of peace in Palestine. We must oppose it with everything we have.
