All eyes will be on Virginia this year as 100 House of Delegates districts are on the ballot, plus the Governor’s, Lieutenant Governor’s, and Attorney General’s offices, which are up for re-election in November.

This election year will give Virginia Democrats the opportunity to not only increase their majority and flip executive offices, but also to hand national Democrats a roadmap for making national gains in 2026. Not to mention, with abortion on the ballot, a Republican Governor who has said he’d like to pass an abortion ban, and a 1 vote margin in the VA State Legislature, the stakes could not be higher.

Here are the Her Bold Move candidates that this event will support:

✅ Lt. Gov. candidate Ghazala Hashmi – Senator Hashmi helped draft the language for VA’s constitutional amendment protecting safe and legal abortion, and served as a Chief Co-Patron for the legislation. She is the only woman in a seven-candidate primary, and is the most experienced legislator in the race.

✅ Elizabeth Guzmán – A former Delegate who was redistricted out in 2023 and is running to reclaim a seat for pro-choice Democrats.

✅ May Nivar – Running for a seat that has been named the TOP pickup opportunity for Democrats in Virginia. Her GOP opponent was rated one of the least effective legislators in the entire state.

✅ Jessica Anderson – In 2023, Jessica lost to the current Republican incumbent by only 1.9% after being vastly outspent. She is already outperforming the incumbent this time around, and is very likely to win the rematch in November.

✅ Kimberly Pope Adams – Like Jessica, Kimberly fell short of flipping this district by less than half a percentage point in 2023. She knows exactly what she needs to do to finally win this seat and help VA unseat one more anti-choice vote in the General Assembly.

Some of these candidates are facing competitive primaries on June 17 and are lagging behind their male opponents in fundraising. We need to ensure they have the support they need to WIN.
