John,
On Sunday, a journalist asked President Trump if he’s required to uphold the Constitution. Trump’s response? “I don’t know.” [1]
This shouldn’t need to be said: The rule of law isn’t optional and it applies to everyone — including the president.
But instead, Trump’s administration is disappearing people without a chance to defend themselves and openly defying court orders — which puts all of our rights at risk.
Trump and his cronies are flagrantly disregarding what America is all about. Issue One is mobilizing to stop this lawlessness and demanding Congress stand up for the folks around the country that they represent.
But there’s more that can be done, and we need you, John, to help us get there. We want to hold action days, uplift the voices of constituents nationwide, put together ads to spread our message, and so much more.
In Trump’s first 100 days, he’s attacked our country’s values in more ways than we ever imagined he could. Issue One is ready and able to meet every challenge that comes up, but doing so is going to stretch our resources.
But if we don’t act and let this chaos continue, our children will grow up in a country that used to be a democracy, but is no longer.
We’re fighting because the rule of law isn’t optional — it’s essential to who we are as Americans.
If you agree, please chip in today to help us keep our fight going as we expand our emergency campaign to hold the executive branch accountable.
Thanks for standing with us, The Issue One Team
