A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR

May 5, 2025

To All YCRC Members and Supporters:

While this is an odd-year primary election, the stakes are no less important for the many races in York County and across the state.

You still have time to BANK YOUR VOTE! Schedule your visit right now to the York County Board of Elections by calling 717-771-9604. The BOE is located at 2401 Pleasant Valley Rd, 17402. You can vote in person at the BOE from now until 5 pm Tuesday, May 13th.

Be sure to support the YCRC’s endorsed York County Row Office candidates and the YCRC’s recommended Court of Common Pleas candidates:

District Attorney

Tim Barker

County Controller

Greg Bower

County Coroner

Tania Zech

Recorder of Deeds

Laura Shue

Judge for the York Co. Court of Common Pleas

Chris Ferro

Paul Minnich

Also, we have our two statewide Judicial PA GOP endorsed candidates:

PA Superior Court Judge

Ann Marie Wheatcraft

PA Commonwealth Court Judge

Matt Wolford

The Executive Committee just approved its third slate of school board candidates for recommendation. This recommendation is for the Southwestern School District candidates, Sylvia Shoemaker, Katie Mooneyhan, and Kirby Beard.

In York County, we must support all our school board candidates who fight for excellence in education, fiscal responsibility, parental rights, and keeping politics out of classrooms. Our school board directors have one of the hardest jobs, and unrelenting hysteria from the opposition. In the coming days before the primary election, the YCRC will release a full list of school board candidates to support.

BE A JOE! The Judge of Election (JOE) is in charge of all Election Day activities and poll workers. The Judge opens and closes the polls and is responsible for the paperwork and delivering the election records and materials to the Bureau of Elections office. A Judge of Elections is the CEO and top election official at his/ her assigned voting precinct. The person filling this position typically attends a one-and-a-half-hour, no-cost training session. The Judge of Elections must work the Primary and General Elections for the next (4) four years, earning between $100 and $200 for the day

Become a Judge of Elections in your precinct by simply getting ten write-in votes from your friends and family. It is still possible to become a JOE by write-in votes on May 20th.

The PA CAP is offering support to help recruit more Republican JOEs.

Coming this fall...

Just Say "NO"

An astonishing number of left-wing judges across the country are making decisions that amount to legislating from the bench. Pennsylvanians witnessed this firsthand with rulings that affected the 2020 Presidential Election and again during the COVID lockdowns. We must take proactive steps to prevent this from happening in the future.

Fortunately, in Pennsylvania, we have a mechanism for this: the option of retention elections. The upcoming year 2025 is crucial for controlling the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and ensuring sane decisions.

Three Democrat-leaning justices on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court are up for retention elections in November. If they win, they will be able to serve for another ten years. However, if enough Pennsylvanians vote "NO" on retaining these justices, a temporary replacement will be appointed, and a new election will be held in 2027.

There will be a significant effort to remove these three leftist justices so that we can regain control of the powerful PA Supreme Court.
