John,
Results from our latest FEC fundraising filing are now public, and we have some exciting news to share with you: this campaign has outraised Eliot Engel's thus far this quarter.
Unfortunately, since these numbers came out, dark money groups have poured over $588,000 into Eliot Engel's campaign. These special interests want to defeat our grassroots movement to bring progressive change.
With just 11 days to go, we need all hands on deck to make sure we have the resources to fight back. Will you chip in $5?

Eliot Engel and his team are running scared, John. They're finally realizing that this campaign actually has a real chance to end his 31 years in Congress — and they'll do anything to stop us and break our growing momentum.
But our campaign has something that Eliot Engel doesn't — and it's the trust of New York's 16th District. We've been talking to our neighbors, voters, and community members over the past year about what they want in their leadership. And it's clear that we're tired of the same old politics. We want — and we're ready — to fight for bold, progressive change.
And unlike Eliot Engel's campaign, our campaign doesn't take money from corporate PACs or lobbyists. Most of our fundraising comes in from individual donors who chip in $5 or $10 at a time to our campaign, and our average donation is $23. And these individual $5 and $10 gifts all came together to ultimately outraise Eliot Engel.
In 11 days, we can get one step closer to getting Jamaal to Congress where he'll lead the fight for working-class families. But we need to keep our fundraising just as competitive as it has been and prepare to fight back. Will you chip in $5?
In solidarity,
Jesse Guy-Herman, Finance Director
