When I joined the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs family in March 2022, I was immediately struck by something special—the overwhelming excitement and gratitude of the veterans as they settled into our Minneapolis Veterans Home (MVH). It didn’t take long for me to understand why.
This place isn’t just another nursing home—it’s a community unlike any other. The energy, the camaraderie, and the dedication of the staff set it apart. As a director of nursing with experience across health care organizations, I’ve seen the complexities of long-term care firsthand. The focus on quality, safety, and satisfaction here at MDVA is on an entirely different level!
At the Minneapolis Home our staff doesn’t just do the work—we embrace it with heart and gratitude, knowing that serving our veterans is a true privilege. The resources and support provided by the State of Minnesota empower us to go above and beyond, creating an environment filled with purpose, passion and unwavering commitment. We don’t just talk about quality—we live it. From meaningful interactions to advanced care, we hold ourselves to the highest standards because our veterans deserve nothing less. Here we welcome, listen and uplift—ensuring that everyone, from Residents to families and team members feels at home.
MVH isn’t just a place. It’s an experience, and I am honored to be part of it!
