*Governor Gordon to Join Suicide Prevention Town Hall in Kemmerer*
CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon will join local leaders and community members in Lincoln County for a *Suicide Prevention Town Hall on Thursday, May 22, 2025*, from 10:00 AM to noon at the South Lincoln Training and Events Center, 215 Wyoming State Hwy 233, in Kemmerer.
The community event will bring together educators, youth, first responders, and concerned citizens to unite in action and direct their efforts towards community-driven solutions. Joining the Governor as featured speakers will be former Senator Fred Baldwin, Dr. Kent Corso, internationally recognized suicidologist and founder of PROSPER (Proactive Reduction of Suicide in Populations via Evidence-Based Research); Brittany Ritter (CPS, BSN, RN); and local voices sharing personal testimonies. The event seeks to raise awareness about suicide prevention, mental health, and the stigma surrounding seeking out treatment.
“This is not just a conversation—it’s an opportunity to share resources, commit to change, and leave with actionable steps to strengthen suicide prevention across Wyoming,” Governor Gordon said.
Parents, educators, first responders, mental health professionals, community volunteers, and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend and engage in this important discussion.
The town hall is a continuation of Governor Gordon’s Mental Health Initiative to advance Wyoming’s systemic approach to mental health care reform. The Wy We Care Initiative [ [link removed] ] is the culmination of extensive collaboration among all three branches of state government, local community teams, and private sector providers. The initiative will improve access to behavioral health services and strengthen the state’s behavioral healthcare workforce.
