Dear John,
In Congress early this morning, the House Natural Resources Committee passed its Committee Budget Reconciliation bill, a mega bill described by Ranking Committee Member Jared Huffman as “the most extreme, anti-environment bill in American history,” that “turns our environment into an industrial sacrifice.”
This bill, meant to save or generate revenue for the Federal Government in areas under the purview of the Natural Resources Committee — including public lands, mining, timber, environmental protection etc —relies on opening our nation’s most special places to the most harmfu,l industries, slashing environmental reviews and processes along the way. |
