   John,
This past Sunday, thousands of people from across the country joined us
for our first-ever Resistance Lab 2.0 workshop to prepare for the
constitutional crisis that is right in front of us.
That’s thousands of people who gave up their time on a Sunday because they
know that this is a time of crisis and the clock is ticking — and I
   couldn’t be more grateful.
The truth is, democracies fall in a matter of months. Authoritarians come
into power and then move with frightening speed to enact their chaos and
cruelty. And unfortunately, too many of us in America have become
complacent — many may have felt that our democracy was stable, and that
checks and balances would protect us.
But what we are seeing now is that those checks and balances — whether
it’s Congress or the courts — only work if those in power abide by them.
If they don’t, then the only real course of action is for the people to
   act collectively to force change.
That’s why it’s so important that we all do our part. Democracies are
never saved by just one person or even one institution. It takes all of us
building momentum and doing what we can.
We’re going to keep doing our part by bringing the Resistance Lab to
people all over the country who want to learn about effective tactics for
nonviolent resistance. But none of it is possible without your grassroots
   support.

whatever amount you can to help us sustain this nationwide organizing

I know there’s a lot of fear out there right now. People are afraid
because authoritarians want to make you afraid, and they want you to be
   silent.
But I also know that millions of us are standing up, speaking out, and
taking direct actions to resist — and that truly matters.
   So thank you,
   John, for everything you’re
doing in this moment. Together we’ll build the momentum we need to put the
   people back in power.
   In solidarity,
   Pramila Jayapal
