Mobilizing, Learning, and Organizing in May
|
Howdy,
Last week, Houston DSA protested with hundreds of Houstonians to demand the City of Houston protect our immigrant communities. After mobilizing, we are digging in for a month of learning and organizing. As Trump erodes constitutional order and international law, we must organize to fight back. As Peter Thiel and other Trump owners experiment dystopian technologies on immigrants and Palestine, we are learning from past revolutionaries to build a free future.

Honor Revolutionary Birthdays!
|
May marks many anniversaries of socialist struggle and victories. May 19th is the birthday of five revolutionaries: Ho Chi Minh, Malcom X, Yuri Kochiyama, Lorraine Hansberry, and Kathy Boudin. We'll have a reading and discussion of Malcolm X's speeches at CLASS Bookstore this Saturday, May 10. On Monday, May 19th, we will learn from the work of each of the radicals.

As Democratic Socialists, we demand Medicare for All to end the capitalist health care system that indebts, harms, and kills working class people. We will be hosting DSA member Nafis Hassan to discuss how this system shapes the study and treatment of cancer in particular.
