Friend,
First Donald Trump, Elon Musk and all their billionaire cronies devised a plan to break apart the U.S. Postal Service and sell it to the highest corporate bidder, like Amazon.(1)
Democrats and Republicans in Congress introduced bills that drew a red line, saying the postal service should never be privatized.(2,3) Now, more than 200 Representatives and Senators have signed on to the House and Senate resolutions.(4,5)
Courage California members have sent tens of thousands of letters and made thousands of phone calls to Congress to help save the USPS, and we can't quit now. We’ve seen Congress fold to Trump before, which is why we have to maintain our momentum and show how many people want the USPS to remain a public service.
We’ve got huge momentum to save the U.S. Postal Service. Will you sign our petition to Congress to turn up the heat even more?
The Postal Service is a one of the most beloved and trusted public institutions in American life. It delivers to over 168 million addresses every single day and employs more than 630,000 people, nearly 30% of whom are Black and 40% are women.(6)
Rural and indigenous communities are especially reliant on the Postal Service, which also handles half of Amazon's rural deliveries. Scores of us depend on it for Social Security checks, prescription drugs, and more.(7)
But Trump, Elon, and their ilk don’t understand the importance of a public service. They only see the opportunity for grift and self-gain.
That’s why Congress must hear from us that we will not allow a hostile takeover of the people’s post office to succeed. Already, outcry from the public is working: dozens of members from both parties have cosponsored bills to stop the privatization of the postal service.
Tell your Congressperson to save the USPS!
Thank you for being in the fight!
